  • did you double tongue or single tongue? which one is better for this excerpt?

  • @jearbear344 I double tongue this excerpt. My single tongue does not go faster than quarter=108 (playing 16th notes), and since this excerpt is expected to be played at least at half=144, I'm forced to double tongue, lol.

  • where did you get a "mini-bassoon"

  • sorry for the late reply...I was playing one of Justin Miller's (Miller Marketing Co.) at TMEA. he says he is in the process of developing a budge model that will sell for about $500 (I think the one I'm playing is about $3000 or so).

  • @neckpopper do u know when it will come out?

  • @Littlebocco There is a rubber model available now for about $1500...and I'm soooo tempted to buy one. It's a Nobel brand (through Miller Marketing Co.)

  • Wow 60% of people dislike this? I just played one today at fmea and I have to say I is pretty hard to play

  • This video is 16 seconds long and is sideways, but it's still awesome.

  • lol, i even liked the technique :P

  • lol!!! nice double tonguing !

  • Isnt that call a faggottini?? I play the bassoon as well.. i thought i was a maniac for trying it..lol but i switched from oboe to bassoon and i still play the oboe and the flute as well.

  • I love it. You gotta be a little nuts, though!

The best mentality to approaching it is to not think of it as being big and difficult. I don't think it's any more difficult than any other woodwind.. it's just very different.
