@youngdones: You may feel 'sure' that consciousness takes place in the brain, but that assertion is unproven and in fact conflicts with a great deal of evidence to the contrary. I would compare your certainty in your beliefs to a Christian's belief in Jesus, or a Muslim's belief in Allah. Materialism is your belief system. As for me, I'll follow the evidence.

@dustinator4u2000 I am 100% sure that consciousness DOES NOT survive physical death. Consciousness takes place in the brain.

@youngdones TO assume is to make an assumtion to make an assumption is to make a judgement on something you dont really know SO if you dont know JEsus when you die you will go to hell

@mickee06 The bible isn't really clear on suicide. Look up the 7 famous suicides of the bible. Also when the bible speaks of homosexuality its talking about men and women who are hetero engaging in homosexual acts. True gays don't have sex with the opposite sex. Neither do true straights. However the curious or the confused, do.

@mickee06 Your heart stops, you lose consciousness, your brain shuts down, and then that's simply the end of you!

@Tonithenightowl but it is mention in the bible. jesus didnt mention suicide either but i know thats something i should not do.

@youngdones so you take one person account over thousands. so you think you would be asleep for eternity? so whats asleep because if we have no body then are you saying that our spirit is asleep.

Extremely few people who die and are then resuscitated have near death experiences. How do you explain the millions of revived "dead" people who don't have any supernatural experience?
youngdones 2 weeks ago
@youngdones There are many reasons for this: they have an experience but can't remember, They were not dead long enough to have one, etc. and others.

@Lekatt1 I know someone whose heart stopped for five minutes after an accident, and she insists that she didn't see anything and did not have any recollection of what went on during those five minutes. It was just like "being asleep" and not having a dream. So I would assume that this is what it is like being dead, for eternity!

@youngdones This is not uncommon, not everyone has a near death experience under these circumstances. Then some have the experience and don't remember it. It is not known why. You can usually tell if someone had the experience by noticing if his life was changed or not. Those who have the experience are changed, their perspective of life is different.
