  • Hello! I love your tutorials, very helpful! I am currently trying to make a herringbone cowl myself and my round 1 turned out lovely. My round 2 on the other had looks horrendous. Instead of laying like its supposed to the diagonal threads are more horizontal against the nice neat 1st round as if it were knit loosely. I have never done herringbone in rounds and I'm not sure if it will tighten up or not. any suggestions?

  • @ashleyc3po My suggestion would be to start tugging on the yarn with every stitch. Are you using thick yarn as I am here in the tutorial or are you using regular weight yarn? Sometimes it all depends on the yarn, but in your case pull on the yarn with each stitch and your project should start to pull together nicely.

Keep me posted and feel free to reach out again if I may be of any assistance.

    Dana

  • Your tutorials on the herringbone stitch are so helpful. Your voice and instructions very clear, you could teach me to fly to the moon, easy!! Am about to knit a scarf in the round using the herringbone stitch. You are an inspiration/great teacher. Thank you.

  • @fingersandthumbs2 Your comment made my day. Thank you so much for your warm words. It's truly encouraging to hear back from my viewers and hear their appreciation. I truly am grateful to God for it all!

  • Hi Dana, have started my herringbone in the round. It's a challenge, had to unpick 4 times, because the work on the needles got sooo twisted. For anyone else doing this do not get the work twisted on the cable or the needles, keep checking. Fingers crossed, I think I've got it sorted and things are looking good. Cant wait to finish it. A lesson in patience and concentration, loving it. Fingersandthumbs2

  • @tripazia Awesome, let me know how it turns out. Maybe, I'll try it out too!

  • @CraftDknits Thank you! Going to start tonight :-)

  • @tripazia Thanks so much for watching!

If using two colors, I would definitely do the two rows in one color before switching to the another color.

  • This is so much easier than most explanations, thanks!

How would you do this with two colours? Two rows for each, or one row for each colour?

    Thanks!

  • @XXifiwereacolorXX Thank you so much and thanks for watching!
