@CoachFrank203 I'm going to hazard a guess, after handling the shoe myself, that the flexibility of this shoe is an issue for running, but not causal wear. I suppose it would last a few hundred miles going in a straight line, but in any activity where you're doing lateral movement, it would feel too soft, like a slipper. Even tho it maintains a good fit around the heel and mid foot, the material does not appear to be intended for sports in the upper or the sole.

can you explain why 'too flexible' is a problem?

@CoachFrank203 Too much of a good thing could be a bad thing as the old saying goes. While we don't recommend these for running (and I don't believe the company intended them for running) Stem are very comfortable casual shoes.
