Bless your hearts! I am from Kansas, and we experienced a terrible flood in June & July of 2007. My heart goes out to all of those who suffered a loss of anykind. May GOD Bless you all, and you are in the thoughts and prayers of some still soggy Kansans!

I lived across from JB and Millie, but before those times I used to go to the Buffalo River when it was as low as a creek. in 1990 it flooded nearly over the rails of the bridge. I came around the S curve fast enough to hear my tires. After coming around the last curve I saw water and the very tip rail of the bridge. I floored it. I felt the car leave the ground and bump back down repeatedly and at some point the waves behind me seemed to carry me rest the way across. Thank you engineers!jojo

The power of flowing water vs. the relative weakness of nails and adhesives.

...lends a whole new meaning to vented roofs.

When the river overflows its banks, the houses become mere toys.

I need a fourth for Bridge.

I was there when that happened...these people did not have flood insurance due to the fact that these were homes built right on the river!

If it wasn't for the floodgates at Norfork, the bridge would have been completly swept away
