Just make sure the fur is good quality, it's worth the expense for 9-15 dollars (US) a yard. This project cost me about 35 dollars to make.

  • If I am making a mask with White fake fur would it be better to make it with White foam than black or does it matter at all??

  • @AlphaWolf400 Pretend the foam is skin. For example, most grey horses have black skin and white fur. You could do a much nicer effect by getting a very fine translucent fur and adhering it to black foam to create the "grey" look without having luster-less grey hair. What color should skin be around the eyes, etc.

  • have you done fx for any indie films? Would love to see you do big things with this.

  • @AlanSessler Yes. We regularly do commissions for indie films and are involved in the community. Me and Ben recently shipped out a pair of glowing monster eye goggles for a swamp witch character in Ireland. We also offer consulting, and conventions.

  • It's called a muzzle. Sorry but I get really pissed when people say snout lol.

  • @lsstoon Snout and muzzle are synonyms. According to Webster's New World Dictionary, a muzzle is "the mouth, nose, and jaws of a dog, horse, etc.," and a snout is "the projecting nose and jaws of an animal." My Animal Physiology and Zoology texts use the terms interchangeably, and I do as well when teaching Zoology. It may be you are a part of a subculture that uses animal anatomy for symbols, i.e., furry, cosplay, where you make specialized distinctions.

  • I was wondering if you guys could maybe go into a little more detail about making the bottom part of the muzzle. I am trying to make a Warwick (character from the game League of Legends) for my husband, however I am having trouble with getting the bottom muzzle so it isn't sticking up in front of his mouth instead of out in front.

  • Thats badass

  • AMAZING! thanks for sharing!

  • I DID win a costume contest thanks in part to this tutorial! Thanks!
