Renowned performance artist, writer, theatre director, and social activist Luis Alfaro reads an essay about his childhood in the Pico Union district of downtown Los Angeles.

Speak Easy is a free evening of spoken word and live jazz. The 2011 Speak Easy featured playwright Luis Alfaro and jazz pianist Bill Cunliffe on Thursday, March 24 at 8 pm at the Culver Events Center in Culver City.
