I'll Close My Eyes cover

My mom wanted me to learn "I'll Close My Eyes" by Dinah Washington, but my voice is in no way similar to hers, and I don't have that crazy vibrato that she does. I found this version on youtube, by a user named guitaress1 and learned this bossa nova-ish version which fit me much better. Thanks guitaress1, i just watched your chords and learned it quickly! I made a few changes, and moved the key up a step. Now I really want a classical guitar!

My fave tune.. the Blue Mittchell version (i'm a trumpet player) anyway, there is a certain eloquence in your interpretation that's hard to pin point. You sing it like you're not really trying hard, possibly because you're not really familiar with the tune, but there is so much passion in your singing especially at 1:01 that is actually an incredible performance!

I listened to Joanie Sommer's version and was looking for Diane Schuur's version when I found yours. Lovely.  Thank you for interpreting one of my favourites. You played and sang like an angel.

@jsnukem Hey so I was on tour and I just saw your reply.. I played a couple more of your videos. You should definitely continue what you're doing. I don't know if you've had any formal musical training but you have so much talent I can tell. Aside from the fact that you probably have a pretty busy life..(I see you downloaded a lot of videos with your kids) music will keep you sane and will be there for you when your down, happy, stressed or exausted.. so never stop!
