Forster & Andrews of Hull were very good organ builders, I think at one point in their history they had a tie up with Shultz in Germany. Their largest example is not unsurprisingly, located in Hull City Hall, with 4 manuals, just over 7000 pipes and over 100 stops, the organ is in fabulous condition. Close on its heels the one in Holy Trinity Church Hull, this is also 4 manuals, over 100 stops and about 5000 pipes.

There's what I reckon to be a similar f&A organ to this 50 miles from me. Am inspecting it with a view to purchase this sunday, Will take camcorder.

I bought some windchests, ranks, keyboards, pedals etc. and treated them all as soon as they arrived. Still nearly lost my house to woodworm & rot though.
Ha ha at least I've got a pipe organ though!!!

I hope they find a good home for it if the chapel closes.

sorry about pressing the wrong button there!
All the organs we buy seem to have woodworm, but we make sure it's dealt with. The D06878 Conacher I keep laying in the workshop had to have building frame section replaced, 5 pedals totally replaced & some new timber let into a wormed portion of the swell box. This remedial work was done 7 years ago, whilst the organ was in storage here. Now we've assembled & restored it there is still no sign of worm. Richard

Something should be done to get that organ in good shape it has a nice tone on it.
Yes,i quite agree with you,if i had room i would buy it off the chapel myself & store it
somewere safe,i have had a look inside it,its
very dirty as you can imagine, the action is abit worn out,& theres not alot wrong with the
pipe work, the cornopean would have to be rescaled & modifyed, bourdon 16fts are badly affected with woodworm of course, its scandelous that things like this can be allowed to happen.
