Hanuman Jayanti in Taos, New Mexico 2007. Hanuman Jayanti is Hanuman's birthday, celebrated on the first full moon of Spring. Beginning at 4 am, devotees sing 108 Hanuman Chalisas, followed by a large feast of India food - puris, chana dal, subzi, khir - called bhandara feast in honor of Sri Hanumanji. The celebration concludes with a big birthday cake at the children's party for Hanuman. Festivities take place at Sri Neem Karoli Baba Ashram and Sri Taos Hanumanji Temple in Taos, NM.
