Tribal women in India are taking on the mining companies which pollute their water, destroy their resources and threaten their way of life. But will the multinationals take complaints seriously?

  • the mining companies will only leave a desert after they have exploited the ground. people will have no more work, no more forest and the land will be too poisoned to make agriculure. the mining companies will dig in other places of the world an make money, the tribal villagers are the first loosers and at the end humanity at large. for quick profit so people will have to eat their iPhones and flatscreens instead of vegetables....

  • Who cares about the poor people or their tribal way of life in every nation, as always, the rich and the powerful including the governments will keep feeding on them like vultures.

    What a damn shame !.

  • Mining is good to the extent of overall developement of the country. Considering how we balance between nature and growth of civilization.

  • media wake up, bharat mata ki jay, kill all present gov, pura desh ko bech diya to angrege

  • India is being infiltrated by blacks from AFrica and impregnating women and young girls as young as nine years old leaving them behind the males who do that crime should be hanged right there mothers give their children away or abort them do to poeverty and I do not blame them. I know it happened to me despicable poverty and lack of RhoGAM vaccine forced me to give up on my children I did meet rich men but were abussive mean spirited to me and i did not want an abussive husband forchildsdad

  • Tribal people are more concerned and know better to protect their forest . I have visited almost all the forest of Orissa including the sanctuaries for a scientifice approach regarding my research . In Sukinda mines we are conducting frequent experiments for growing dalbergia and other plants in stress conditions . They way be planting 3 times . More important is whether the plants will get resistance in mine soils .

  • hello

  • @rekha68 , please do nont bring caste or race issue here, technically, nobody cares about other in India now. reasons are many: how many time, one person in city cares to respect or protect public property even if it belongs to another same caste person. Only political people are to be blamed here. They have power and they can solve anything that I believe. Destruction of public property, environment or anything is beyond caste issue. It is matter of ruling a place by a proper(improper) govt.

  • I can see these people are voiceless, because they are outcaste the higher class dont cares about them . These women have to fight against these criminals who are destroying the forests.

  • In my country (Hungary, Europe) people are protesting because of the closure of coal mines. It was interesting to watch that in India is absolutely diffrent.

But of course in Hungary nobody hunts or collects anything from the forest:)

  • More over tribal people will remain poor and will move to cities where they will be mis treated where they can only do demeaning jobs. Tribal people are living well within their limits, in a self sufficient and ecologically

sustainable manner. It is the government and Vedanta who are wrong in this situation. Governments should stop

catering to greedy big businesses. We are not paying taxes for that.
