This is an expository video for an Osage Orange Longbow I made under the guidance of a Much wiser and more experienced Bowyer. IT pulls 53# at 28", and I know that I kept drawing it short int he video, that's what I get for not warming up first i suppose.

Also, the reason why you only saw me shoot 4 of my dozen arrows is because for some reason my camera shuts off after a minute or so when shooting in a fast frame rate. So I had to splice the clips together.

The song is "Biaxident" by Liquid Tension Experiment

This bow is not for sale because I love it too much.

  • @lovebumper2121 What are you talking about...? Are you left handed? (Or do you do a different style of archery where the arrow rests on the right side of the bow like Kyuudo?)

  • hey bro you gettin really good at this! any chance you can build me a red oak longbow? all my toold got stolen sadly, and I'm plannin on doing a survival camping trip next month....good stuff i love the wabes on that osage, good character bow!

  • @cardonaman Well normally I would have been able to turn one out in a week or two, but my free time took a hit when i got hired full-time, so I can still make one, just probably not within a month...

  • Your bow is beautiful. You did a great job on it. I was just wondering what the length is.

  • @travisrm14 Thanks! It's 66" nock-to-nock, and 67.5" total

  • fantastic! love to see people taking interest in traditional/primitive archery! I'm in the process of making my 12th bow, you are doing awesome! keep up the good work brother!

  • @loadedclownz I'v been a bowyer for many years and i'v worked with osage orange alot and i simply love it. Its fast , powerful, and very long lasting. Red oak on the otherhand is pretty powerful, not as fast, wears out fairly fast, the only advantage is you can get alot nicer pieces of it for much cheaper. Both of them are great but i prefer osage orange.

  • which wood do you think is the better bow wood, red oak or osage orange?

  • i've had a similar problem with a bow i'm working on i was wondering if you could ether do a quick video or just explain to me exactly how you bandaged the bow.

  • I can hear the Spetznatz guys now... "RETREAT! THE AMERICANS HAVE A REAL RAMBO!!! RETREAT!

  • @lovebumper2121 yeah what are talking about ass backwards exaggerated unnecessary kyudo style?

  • @Raynor35 yeah what is this guy talking about ass backwards exaggerated unnecessary kyudo style?..u made a nice osage bow that guy is a moron..

  • l'v notist from esperance that Osage whith a bamboo backing works very well.

  • thought that song sounded familiar at the end... at first I thought it was about to crash from Dream theater's SDOIT until that higher note in the second measure. I need to get that LTE album, nice bows by the way keep it up!

  • @lovebumper2121 whats he doing wrong??? the arrow shelf is not in the wrong side! if you hold the bow with your left hand then the arrow shelf is on the left side of the bow and if you hold it with your right hand then the arrow shelf is on the right side
