Selena woke up at the sound of birds chirping outside. She was a little surprised to see a missing figure where Nick slept the night before. She grabbed her cellphone off the night stand and checked her text messages, noticing she'd received one from Nick.
'Have things to do. I'll be back later.'
Selena sighed, she had hoped that Nick might be able to show her around town. She was just about to set her phone on the table when it rang with an incoming call.
"Hello?"
"Sel!" The male voice on the other line exclaimed.
"Joe is that you?!"
"Yup! It's me! I'm in Paris. But I'm planning on surprising Dad by coming home for his birthday. I called to see if you were coming."
"I.. can't." Selena decided.
"Why not??-- Oh wait. Are you two still in that stupid fight?" He asked.
"Its not stupid! I'm not a baby anymore and he can't control me like I am one."
"Sel, your his only daughter. He just wants the best for you." Joe responded in a calm tone.
"By not giving Nick permission to marry me?! How is that for the best?!" She yelled back, furry pulsing through her veins.
"Whatever Sel. I'm not getting in the middle of this. Just don't let it go on to long. Dad loves you and so do I. I'll talk to you later little sis." He hung up the phone.
Selena wanted to scream, she threw her phone across the room and grabbed her purse. She wasn't sure where she could go, this town was still a mystery to her.

Her feet had lead her to a bar. The first one she passed. She need some alcohol something to numb this feeling.
"Surprised to see you here."
"Logan?" Selena asked, she stared at him in disbelief.
"Bartender. Remember?"
"Oh. I'm sorry. I'll just go."
"No that's okay. Sit. People who know me tend to tip better." He said, cracking a smile. Selena let a soft laugh escape her lips. "What can I get ya?" Logan asked.
"Something strong." Selena replied. She was surprised how easily the words flowed through her lips. She wasn't used to alcohol. She only had it once in a while. Mostly on holidays.
"Comin' up." He replied. His hand's worked quickly, mixing all sorts of different bottles contents' together. After a minute he set it down in front of Selena.
She took a quick sip, her eyes widened. It was really strong. "I think you've found your calling."
"Thanks." He replied. "Wanna tell me what's with your sudden need for alcohol. You never struck me as that girl."
"Its nothing." She answered, she took another sip. This time consuming more than before.
"Bartender, Customer confidentiality." Logan promised.
