Asleep With The World Alight

A video I made for a friend, Campbell Micallef, who used to be in a band but isn't any longer. What a pity. He was pretty rad. Although not as rad as the incredibly trite description I gave this video in my notes from the time:

"History repeats. Ice ages, world wars, carbon emissions, ozone layers, rolling blackouts, rising oceans, Armageddon. The world is running on a loop that goes and goes, long before during and after we are here. The song 'Asleep With The World Alight' follows this theme of complacency and history, the inevitability of change and the fear of the unknown.

My concept is an animated music video that shows a world of simplicity in motion. The theme is reflected in the isolation of characters viewing the world from behind a frame, emotive but unable to interact, to connect. If the universe is an image, we are pixels, only able to see the dots around us. But from afar, a tapestry exists."
