This is most definitely the most cheesiest scenes ever. BUT I love it! If I'm in the right frame of mind (meaning emotionally) I'll cry. Haha! Gosh! I'm such a nerdy Potterhead! ♥

"The script originally said that Hermione would hug Harry and Ron in the final scene. As the eleven-year-old Emma Watson was embarrassed about having to hug the boys in front of the entire cast, Columbus allowed her to changed the scene so instead Hermione just hugs Harry then starts to hug Ron but the two get embarrassed and resolve to only shake hands. she kept letting Daniel Radcliffe go too quickly, so the filmmakers had to freeze the film for a few seconds to make the hug last longer."

One of my favourite endings of the whole of the Harry potter films, the ending of Philosophers Stone is touching and iconic as the train sails away with Hagrid looking on and this one was just touching, the friendship, the comfort and the feeling of family at Hogwarts, just a beautiful scene and a great end to a great film :)

Yates just turned in a poor adaptation job. He directed better films, but Columbus was more faithful to the message of the source.
