a poem for you...
Fuji
You drank form a glass cup I offered
fragile, broken, but brave, drank your fill
and left, no call, no letter
a kiss becomes a smile, a smile becomes a hello
and sometime after that kiss
we forgot where WE came from
forgot that people, like animals
can also be held captive
capturing memories that turn back into the moments that created them
a taste for masochism, we painfully relive them-
Voluntarily, I let you know you held a key
in your morning smile-
handed you the lock
morning becomes darkness, helpless I watch
as the glass cup I offered becomes sand again
slipping through slender fingers
I've lost you to the waves, crashing
parts of me evaporated by your heat, dry, I thirst
even a hurricane is just a cloud in the beginning-
I blame myself for welcoming your damage
A cold heart somewhere beneath the ruins
waiting for you to find me again
like a lost language buried in Egypt
and like a lost language
the words become a letter
and the letter becomes a sound
and the sound becomes a noise
that no one understands
so the word "love" losses it's meaning
and we add more to the mystery
how can we build the sphinx
if we can't see past the rocks we call hearts
how can we build the sphinx
if we can't see inside the rocks we call hearts
and so the rocks turn into magma again
creeping back into the volcano
and the volcano becomes a dead mountain
our love couldn't climb.

I'm an unpoetic fool, but can I ask:
Did you get burned by a Japanese girl too?
I'm asking in all sincerity, not taking away from your great poem, bro. :D
