Israelis chant 'Jews and Arabs refuse to be enemies'

Israel's social protest movement continues despite renewed cycle of violence.

Following last week's terror attack in which eight Israelis died on the
Southern border with Egypt, the Israeli air force escalated its
bombardment of Gaza. On Saturday, despite predictions that the cycle of
violence would dissolve the rising social protest movement in Israel,
thousands poured onto the streets and chanted "Jews and Arabs refuse to
be enemies." On Sunday, Hamas announced it has reached an
agreement for truce among the various resistance groups in Gaza but
Israel continued to bomb the Strip killing six, and splinter groups
continued to fire rockets into southern Israel.

Israel despite what you hear on the news, is full of potential. If it found peace with its Palestinian neighbors, then it could lead the Middle East to a bright new future. Too bad fear rules that area of the world. Religious, millitary, governmental imposed fear. That fear has led to hatred affecting both Israelis and Palestinians. I am glad to see that Israel is moving away from its fears of Palestinians and moving to loving them instead. Let us pray this continues.
