I watched it in 1963 at the impressionable age of 14. Wow! The production crackled with sex and the static electricity from Vivien Merchant's nylons.
15 denier - you can't beat it. Magnificent femininity. Young men eat your hearts out. Those fortunate enough to be alive in the 1950s and early 1960s lived through the zenith of eroticism. I had my moments by the kind courtesy of a lady who gave me singing lessons and yes, she wore a black dress and stockings.

Why should there be a catch or a punchline when you have a short extract from a complete play ? In the play the appearance of the man is itself a punchline because the "lover" you see at the door is really the husband, dressed differently. It's an erotic game the couple play. So that's the catch. But you need to know the play to know that.
