All the President's Shills. McClellan Outs FOX News.

During an interview with Chris Matthews on Hardball and later on the phone with Keith Olbermann, former White House Press Secretary Scott McClellan finally went on the record, admitting that FOX News was, in effect, acting as an arm of the Executive Branch.

Olbermann and Air America's Rachel Maddow discuss this final confirmation of what many of us have known for years.

Even though McClellan would not go so far as to implicate the FOX journalists in this cozy arrangement, it's clear that the evening crowd - Gibson, Ingraham, Cavuto, O'Reilly and Hannity - act as surrogates for White House talking points.

As Maddow points out, the White House is free to use any surrogates it wants.

What is illegal is for the news outlet to keep its connections to the White House secret.
