  • Does anyone know if the 601 or 650 needs any special airframe or engine modications to perform aerobatics like this? (Safely).......Great video and great flying brother!

  • CH-601UL rotax912 80Hp

Look at the my other video

    ch-601 loop

  • So the 601 being flown here can handle 3-4 G's without any airframe reinforcement or special rivets? The 601 I will be flying has the 0-200 100hp motor and was assembled with all stock materials from the manufacturer.

I really want to give a basic loop a try.....but I don't want to bend the aircraft or snap off a wing!!

Anything I should know before giving it a try??

  • normal 601 UL

  • maybe after take off is not a good time to remember to put your headset on lol....

  • @ateska8514 Showoff - that's what he is.That aircraft is not built for arobatic and it is directly stupid to make that kind of maneuver in it. Lets hope that hi not learn this the hard way. Dont do it please..

  • fake and gay

  • Great music !! What is the name of the Group?

  • Know before you fly...check out my twitter account "zenithzodiac"

  • NIce video. Cool pilot.

It looks so "sporty" that (some) folks just gotta try aeros... even though it's not stressed for it. If you really know what you're doing (as this pilot seems to) you can "get away" without damaging the wings. But the streak of XL wing failures suggests to me that some folks might be accidentally over-stressing the wing spars. My two cents worth (601HDS builder/flyer).

  • Yeah - mainly that the 601 (especially with the XL wings) is NOT stressed for aerobatics. A loop can easily pull 3.5Gs and this is getting close to the "damaged" but the wings stay on range for this airplane... If you want to do aeros start with an aircraft that is really suited for them, and of course get good training. My 2 cents worth.

  • The wing failures you refer to were on the 601XL, not the 601UL/HD/HDS. Totally different wing design. The 601XL is a different airplane.

The aircraft in this video is a 601UL. It is not approved for aerobatics so it is not likely very wise to be doing loops with it.

  • do you guys know that there's been like 7 wing failures on this airplane,,,they're being grounded,,,,seems' to have aileron flutter,,

  • it is pretty badass that the pilot pulls off a double loop without any expression.
