Ok here's my analysis, the third coffin was the 4th hokage, BUT kishimoto might have made a mmistake, because you can't bring back people who've been sealed, minato sealed himself inside the death gods stomach. My conclusion Kishimoto made a mistake and probably didn't think that far ahead, the 3rd coffin was the 4th hokage.

I think that oro intended to summon the 4th hokage,but the technique failed due to him being sealed in the death gods stomach and THATS why the coffin went back down

@Ssonicmovies Madara isn't alive, kabuto summons madara's body with the edo tensei, so tobi is definitely not madara, but he could possibly be sishui uchiha, or maybe not an uchiha at all. Also for everyone else, the third hokage used his own justsu to prevent the 3rd coffin from rising up.

@TheLandOfTears it´s never said it was no 4 it could have been Madara Orochimaru had his DNA too. Kabuto stated that after he summoned Madara

@caniwatchavidplz Madara is alive. He is tobi. He said it in front of the whole akatsuki and showed himself UNmasked to kisame as seen when a guy (from yamanaka clan probably) that was with killer bee, yamato trying to get naruto to control the nine tail fox's chakra, was reading kisame's mind but then kisame suicided putting himself in a water bubble and then summon sharks that ate him :'( .

@triggermode88 wrong, he cant bring the 4th back because as you said he sealed himself with the death god and this jutsu requires the soul of the one you want to summon to still be on earth. BUT the reason it didnt work was because the 3rd stopped it. Yes they can do that.

@NanomorphTX it is possible that orochimaru wanted to summon the fourth but he didn't know that the fourth was sealed by the dead demon consuming seal therefore, the coffin went back down on it's own
