Marcia, I thanked you for posting the Wilson movie but I enjoyed this one far more..... Not only was it beautiful and beautifully acted, it had a message of real substance... For me that message is, we're all one race, the human race.....

Many thanks for posting Sayonara! I knew nothing about Japan when I saw it as a teenager. Now as a gray-haired fan of Kurosawa & Mifune I get teary seeing Japan as it was in the mid-1950s. Brando was pretty darn good in this, & Miyoshi Umeki just breaks your heart.
