As I was thrown from the plane I experienced a serious threat to my life and shear fright. I managed to ignore this after a few seconds when i realised that i was just falling, and not dying. I then viewed the world in a way that my mind was not able to comprehend, probably not helped by the inability to see detail through the fogged goggles and the wind was rushing past at about 300Mph. As we gained some control of the freefall and got into a horizontal position, the sense of control of my life returned and I started to realise what was going on around me. Then I saw the cameraman infront of me and tried to act brave. Thumbs up. I realised that this was the most intense thing i had ever done. Then i felt the pull of the first chute to slow us down and this gave me a small amount of confidence that I wasn't going to die. Next came the pull of the full chute, ouch, stomach wrenching deceleration. I could then take the goggles off my eyes. I was above the clouds and everything below was unbelievable tiny, with no detail, nothing looked real, it felt like we weren't falling anymore. Then I just spent, what seemed like ages, looking around trying to make out objects. I saw a train which looked like a kids toy. A farm, with horses that looked like tiny diecast models, but then i could see them moving their heads and walking around. It was bizarre and confusing. I knew it was real, but my mind was telling me it wasn't . It put my life into perspective. I then noticed that the ground was coming up to meet me faster and faster and we landed on our feet. The cameraman was pointing the camera at me again and I acted brave. I just wanted to go try to find something familiar and regain my grasp on reality. Game over.

  • Great job! you just launched parachute right after jumping out instead of sky diving like 30 seconds

  • No, the parachute didn't release until after about 30 seconds, there is a drogue shoot that slows the velocity of tandem freefallers so that the main chute isn't ripped from your backpack when it's deployed at around 300MPH.

  • My nephew wants to do this for charity!!He must be out of his tiny mind:(

  • It's both the scariest and most amazing thing i have ever experienced. I hope he enjoys and appreciates it as much as I did. I never expected the ammount of support and sponsorship that i received from doing that jump. It was an unforgettable experience. Good luck to him.

  • i am sooo jealous!!

i dont know who this is but i really want to do a jump like that!!!!

    x

  • It was the best thing i have ever experienced. It puts life into perspective, and I would recommend it as something everyone should do at least once in their lives.
