Why I Despise Creationists

Now and again I get a comment saying that my use of the occasional tactical insult or profanity are detracting from the message of my videos and that I should take the high ground when dealing with the festering pustules otherwise known as creationists.

There is certainly merit to this point of view, but I don't take my approach lightly and without having thought about it for some time. I spent over a year politely debating creationists in comments sections before I started making videos, so my perspective has been finely honed through the school of hard knocks.

A recent exchange with a particular obnoxious fucktard in the comments section of one of my older videos provided a perfect example of exactly why I treat these people the way I do and inspired me to make this video to outline my motivations while using him to illustrate my point.

Finally, a very big thank you to you all for your very kind and consoling words following the death of my family's pet conure. We were all very touched by your sympathies and I'll try my best to keep Freddie's memory alive as an icon in the fight between rationality and ignorance.

If you want something to be true badly enough, you can argue that anything could prove it true. That doesnt make it true. It doesnt require proof to convince someone of something they already believe.

That was an enjoyable video. Well done. I've come to a similar conclusion of how to deal with creationists. Yes, you can point out the evidence politely, but no, they will not listen and will copy and paste bible verses and/or creationist "science" quotes. *sigh*
