At a press conference in the U.S. Capitol, Senate Republicans call for an end to the Democrats' spending spree, which includes billions of dollars in duplicate spending, and invite congressional Democrats to join them in crafting legislation that emphasizes fiscal responsibility.

Stop spending? Didn't we have a surplus under CLINTON? Where'd all that go?
Oh, yeah - Republican rubberstamping and TWO wars. Thanks GOP!!

Republicans can't say anything anymore about this. They have no credibility. I am a republican, and I have no confidence in the party at all anymore. This spending binge as you call it began during a republican time of control during the Bush administration and continued for 8 consecutive years. I applaud you for standing up against spending now, but it's too little, too late.

call me the con all you want, YOU'RE president is the one spending his way into a depression, and by the time you realise it, it'll be too late. Wall street hates him, economists hate him, teenagers should hate him, workers hate him, but idiots love him.

Are you this stupid and lazy to do your own research???? The Iraq War Resolution authorization was sought by President George W. Bush. Introduced as H.J.Res. 114 (Public Law 107243), it passed the House of Representatives on Thursday afternoon at 3:05 p.m. EDT on October 10, 2002 by a vote of 296-133,and passed the Senate after midnight early Friday morning at 12:50 a.m. EDT on October 11, 2002 by a vote of 77-23. It was signed into law by President Bush on October 16, 2002. LAZY, LAZY CON!!!!

no, grow brain. the dems fully supported going to war, but as soon as progress was made, THEN they went against it. stop remembering what you only want to remember, that's basically lying to yourself

Wrong. Congress consists of both the Senate and the House. Do the math - combine 60% of Dems voted against the war. You must get your "facts" from fake news outlets like Fox or the Wall Street Journal.

they all agreed for it 99-1. they then decided to call it failed right after bush said "we won".

You are confused about history already. Or maay be confusing the bailouts the Stimulus package - two entirely different things. The Bush Administration developed the bailout plans in the Summer/Fall before Obama won the election and took office. Congress approved the plans but they are Republican created plans. Stay true to history and don't drink the Limbaugh kool-aid.

Yes, let's keep the miitary 'alive' so Republicans can lie about justification of force and use it for personal pursuit of power. Don't forget 60% of Democrats in Congress voted against the war.
