  • Soooo, I FINALLY got this car running right. I got it on the road about March of 2011, and it has run like garbage, but got me to and from. Turns out it was a couple vacuum hoses that I had missed that got the car going. I also put in some yellow Mustang injectors in, and that helped, too. Last week, I decided to switch from Hydro brakes to Vacuum brakes, and in the process switched my intake and made sure everything was nice and tight. Now she runs GREAT! So look for those vacuum leaks!

  • well those cars also would barely idle if th crankcase want sealed up tight so taking the dipstick out would cause it to idle down or cut off and that kneumatic pump on the back side of the intake hose needs to work properly

  • Could also be lack of backpressure... possibly. I know my car ran like hell with no exhaust. lack of 02 sensor

  • This car has no idle control module, its an 87 with 059 ecu, its build into the computer, Check your TPS, it may be also out of adjustment,

  • Have you checked your Idle Control Module located next to the ECU under the dash? The solder joints can crack. Clean out the ICV with carb if it hasn't been completely replaced, and replace fuse #6.

  • the air flow metter looks up side down i don't know much about bmw but i think my bmw had no idle when the afm was in the car all different

  • Er, I don't get you clearly. (excuse me for my poor english) So, you have a 528e, don't you, that you'd like to be rewired. Why? Completely? What's the trouble with wiring or anything which is why you want to do? And what could you simply make bypassed?

  • you have a trick to fix it mine works i just wanna see if there is another way that i could just bypass it i have an 87 528e that i would like to see about rewiring it so i dont have to worry about all the bs sensors is there a way that i can do that

  • hi there im the e28 us exporter for all european spec bumpers and trim let me know if you need any parts i can list on ebay check my profile to see my e28 87 518i

  • check the airflow meter, the moving potentiometer may be worn and has not a proper contact, it can be visible. if so, you needn't replace that. there's a little trick to fix it.
