Beyond an album but too strange for a single, this free-floating stunner features on the rarities compilation Plush Funk (1993).

Junie pleads for inspiration from the Super Spirit.

  • Madlib sampled this song for an exclusive 45 with Strong Arm Steady. It sounds a little slower than it should be on the original, but I love this track!

  • @decriss7 Do you know the track name? I would be thrilled.

  • This is one of my jams! great look!

  • thank you Nick, I knew you'd know it. I hope you start uploading again.

  • And let's not forget that all of this, all the instruments, are all just one guy.. and all of it is played in real time straight to tape! no looping, sampling, or midi programing...This man was a band in his own right! Also, Juni Morrison is the one who composed and played many of the instruments on Funkadelic's 1978 monsterhit "Knee deep" .. Much respect! and where is he now??

  • Funk defined. Do yo' thang JS Theracon.

  • @redbluffhill1 That is not Gary Shider. But I will go confirm with Clip Payne and git back to you all on that.

  • Is it possible for anyone to find the lyrics for this song or even post it up on you tubes?

  • @redbluffhill1 I can confirm that all instrumentation and vocal parts were done by Junie, staight-to-tape.

  • @redbluffhill1 it definitely sounds like bootsy on bass and clinton, shider and others on vocals. unless u mean the one that put it all together.

  • @casparwijn hmm... i have to disbute that..

  • @keeprising45 any video from his performance ?

  • @decriss7 Madlib didn't sample that song. It was another song : "I'll be with you" sung by Junie from a Bernie Worrell LP. Search for "Strong Arm Steady - Life feat Skinhead Rob"

  • @HerrBitter I have.... sharing name is atbfunk

  • @casparwijn He performed on stage in Chicago this week sharing the bill with Dam-Funk and Ron Trent.
