another of J H Brennan's True Ghost Stories, read by Richard O'Brien - sorry that the sound fades a bit here and there, the cd I have is not the best quality.

  • Dude couldn't put the whole thing up bit by bit could u? lol It's just I cannot find this anywhere and I have been dying to listen to it all again. If not that's cool just thought I'd ask :) cheers man.

  • I am planning to, actually; so far I've done this, the Pig From Hell, Things That Go Bump in the Night, Scrap Faggot Green and the Ultimate Comeback. Next planned project is The Pluckley Ghosts.

  • If it's good enough for Dr Who and Blake 7 it's good enough for Spike Milliagan et al. Geez it must be getting rather mad in heaven. I love Spike's epitaph on his grave, Qoute: "I told you I was ill." Yes by all means gimme Mr Dyall if Richard O'Brien is unavailable. Geez I'm fickle!

  • Righto then. May be a little while, as I am experimenting with fitting Goon Show sounds to movie clips; had Henry Crun and Minnie Bannister fitted to the Cabinet of Dr Caligari, hysterical but a bit rough round the edges, so I'm practising. By the by, you're not fickle, you just have a lot of love to spread around, like me.

  • May I suggest the original version of "Great Expectations" for the "wandering on the moors" type scenes in Good Show scripts? John Barrymore (Drew's grampy)in "The Great Man Votes" (I just adore that movie) for the "vox pop" Goon Show scenes, and the original of "Birth of a Nation" for the war scenes? I'm thinking like a 1930s Pinewood Studio sort of look.

  • Good ideas! I tried out a clip of Moriarty and Grytpype last night to a clip of Charters and Caldicott (Basil Radford and Naunton Wayne) in the original The Lady Vanishes, and laughed so much I hurt myself, but it's still a work in progress.

  • @Lemming013 i used to have a tape of scary poems, titled such things as "the banshee, the vampire, the ghoul, the will of the wisps, the ghost, the giant...etc..etc.. the tape's cover had artwork of a skeleton in a top hat and suit, clutching a rose...by chance, do you know anything about it? it seems like the title was something like "stories to make you scared" but i cant search it out

  • Shit the pictures creeped me out...

  • It's Bigfoot but his name ain't Harry it's Big Jimmy!!!! " AAAaarghh!!! Looooook at's Bug Jommi the Grrrey!! yerr Weee Baastad!!!! Rrrrun!!!!!

  • I'm thinking 50 Berkley Square would have made a good ghost story for Richard O'Brien to do, now that is a creepy story.

  • I used to have this on tape casset when I was young, however i lost it somehow, but I bought it again on Ebay for £2 recently. Such an awsome set of tales, try listening to this before you go to sleep

  • This thing isn't like other "ape men". It actually APPROACHES humans!

  • It was Scuttlebutt!
