Bill Maher is both an atheist and a comedian so it's no surprise that he makes fun of religion. Most of the clips with Bill are taken from his show but sometimes he does a monologue -- in this case at a show he called "I'm not wrong" which he presented in the fundamentalist stronghold, Raleigh, North Carolina in February 2010.
One of the top comments made by people defending religion is that -- "it does no harm - in fact it can be a comfort so leave it alone." Here Bill talks about that.

Yeah, well there are no good aspects of religion that cannot be achieved by secular means. For example, Unicef and Medecins Sans Frontiers are both secular charity organizations.

While there are many religious charities out there that do genuine charity, a lot of them seem to just sell religion to desperate people (there is a children's home in the Philippines that takes in street children and raises them in accordance with the values of the Gospel). It's kinda sick, really.

  • I LOVE this and Bill always hits it on the nail : )

  • Mormontology: the belief that the 'advanced technology' of your magic underwear will protect you, John Travolta, Tom Cruise, and your spaceship from the second coming of Xenu.

  • @G0TM34T sounds pretty atheist to me. To not believe in god is atheism, he says that outright

  • i'm an atheist, but you have to admit that Christians are responsible for most of the charity organizations, and the social gospel.

  • @G0TM34T Well, being agnostic is more of ''I don't know'', while apatheism is more along the lines of ''I don't care''.

  • Bill maher isn't atheist, nor is he agnostic. He's apatheistic, it's pretty much a form of being agnostic. In fact, he hates atheism as much as religion.
