  • From what I understand, nobody was injured during the flooding, is that accurate? It's a relief if true, it looked awful from the air.

The members of the Maine Army National Guard and all the other responders did a great job helping to limit the damage to the town as best they could, I'm hoping Fort Kent recovered quickly.

  • Hi all, I shot this video, and I was in the dark green Forest Service UH-1 helicopter with Governor Baldacci, and aide of his, and a member of the Maine Emergency Management Agency.

Sorry about how choppy the video was, but when I returned to Camp Keyes that night our editing software wouldn't recognize me as a legitimate user, so I had to do the barest of chopping before handing the video off.

  • Wow. Hope that does not happen again.

  • this is my little town gone through a disaster..but we pulled through! we r a strong little town but with a big heart

  • some very amazing footage there, my family has tons of pics of this but no videos, if i was there id probably fill up my 8 gig SD card with videos, how was the helicopter ride was it scary, i bet its loud in the cabin b/c of the engine noise and did you have to wear those headset things.

  • I'm moving there this summer. Hopefully on a hill LOL

  • those apartments that you see...thats where my memere lived!! she lost EVERYTHING!

  • I hear you venturedp-- I'm from Madawaska-- Looking at this in San Diego where I reside now...

  • Amazing. The spring 2008 floods will always be remembered in the St-John River Valley.

  • Nutty. I cant believe it. I've lived most of my life there, only leaving rescently. Strange to see it in that sort of condition.
