  • The tribes are broken becasue the world rages against the Gospel. Jesus said families would be split because His name. The true Gospel does not rape and pillage villages. It builds up and leads people tot he suffering savior Jesus Christ

  • Those who think they know what they know not are quick to judge. Those transformed by Christ seek to love and serve others however they can. All else falls under religion, the religion(s) that instill fear. Such folly and sadness is this that it undermines the very solution to all problems. For the world doesn't care about the weak like it supposedly says it does. The world only cares about itself (religions included) and keeping everyone in line.

  • Missionaries are evil. Who the hell do you people think you are? Trying to force people from their native culture to your own false ideas? Disgusting. You do realize that you represent the only religion that forcibly tries to convince others to join your faith?

  • @Imaginefree69 these things indeed happened, and they were done in the name of christ, but the religion whereby these people were destroyed was not that of christ, but that of western imperialists out to exploit abd destroy. I am sorry so many religious idolators, in voting you down, would not allow to to even speak a half truth here

  • he does not distinguish between the loving desire to go and the legalistic impulse to go, probably because, from my having heard quite a few of this mans vids, he himself does not know the difference

  • AMEN!!!!!!!

  • Imaginefree69, I am curious...do you believe that Christian missionaries carry in copious amounts of sugar and alcohol, abuse all the children and then outlaw the local language? That is a weird accusation.

The fact is that I know many who are planning to do literacy and translation work among people who have NOTHING written in their languages. This gives them hope and a reason to RETAIN their culture.

Do the research. Corporations often destroy culture...missionaries often save it.

  • I can certainly understand your point of view, that where Christianity is, there are problems. There is no doubt that this is true. The true gospel of Jesus is what Piper mentions here - marvelous light. Example: the New Hebride Islands. Before Christian missionary John Paton arrived there, they murdered and ate one another. Surely Jesus' death on the cross for their murderous sins was a message of hope and light to them. Christians are sinners, but Jesus Christ was perfect. He's worth it
