The day before I took this, was at FL250 returning to LFT from HQZ. The auto-pilot suddenly began what I can only describe as a rapid aileron "flutter" along the roll axis. I quickly disengaged and hand-flew the rest of the way. A couple of attempts to re-engage at lower and warmer altitudes saw the same result. Weird. I just felt sorry for the three (now pale) high-school girls riding in the back...

And wouldn't you know it, auto-pilot worked flawlessly in this video.

  • Great vids as always.

Do you still do any flights in the C210?

  • @MrWebbnz Thanks for that! And no, we sold the 210 after all these years (and videos). We sold to a locally based pilot, so I haven't seen the last of her..

  • Thanks! The credit goes to my wife who came along and held the camcorder. I would have preferred more of an outside shot during takeoff, but I liked that she got the gear retraction/extension, plus the cowl flaps closing during climb out.

Funny what we like to see...
