@moccina yeah, for the rear seat

@missmallori87 Agreed, I've been rear ended before as well with minimal damage done to the Forester. Still had to say.. Ah!!! What the fuck?!!

The wife and I just bought a 03 subaru forester. we love the the car great out on the highway even better on the beach. I have yet to get it stuck and boy have I tried. The soft sand does not bog it down at all. I like the way it handles on the road. I would recommend one to any one that drives on the back roads or on the beach. I don't live where it snows so all I can say is try it you WILL like it.

I am buying one of these makes me feel alot safer then my previous car

Only 4 airbags and the car gets a good rating overall... and the Mercedes E class has 8 airbags and only gets an acceptable. Thats kind of weird. I'd still feel safer if this car had a full curtain airbag and better rear seat protection...

The 2009 Forester has standard curtain airbags, which should help address some of the minor shortcomings of the model in this test. Even so, the 03-08 model earned "Good" ratings in just about every aspect of this test and is an IIHS "Top Safety Pick".
