@Josettesieben It is and it isn't. I suggest you read "A Trade Like Any Other" by Karin Van Nieukerk. It explains the relationships between the people and this dance. Suffice it to say that this dance was never intended to be a "public" affair but one for families only. More specifically for women only. But no wedding or Moulid would be without a Dancer/s and Orchestra. Too deep a topic for this venue.
