LEAP Executive Director Neil Franklin says vote Yes on PROP 19 -- "Tax and Control Marijuana 2010." Officer Franklin, a veteran narcotics officer, says Prop 19 will save our children and heal our cities by letting cops focus on serious crime and stop arresting young people. It will regulate marijuana the same as alcohol.

Great piece. But I have to know: do you support Jack Cole firing Brad Jardis from the LEAP speaker's bureau?

Brad was a cop in New Hampshire, a LEAP member, who publicly declared that he could no longer make arrests for drug possession, because it would conflict with his oath to the NH and US constitutions. LEAP kicked him out.

This is the same BS that gave this country the 'gift' of the Patriot Act. Are we all 5 years old and don't see simple reverse psychology at work? Or simple self interest? The author of this bill, Richard Lee, stands to make a FORTUNE when this is monopoly-enabling bill gets passed.

If you want to legalize it FOR REAL, support the Jack Herer initiative for 2012. This is a Trojan Horse bill, and we'll be fighting Monsanto to repeal it.

It's bullshit because the activist lawyers who made MM possible have READ THE LAW, and are ABLE to read said law, have come out en masse against this bill? That the same kind of bill made it so the only legal hemp in Canada is that grown from 'approved seed' from a mere handful of suppliers?

Oh, yes, 'scaling up' the agriculture will be awesome for Cannabis, same way it was for Spinach - ever hear of E. Coli on spinach until a couple years ago? Funny, me either.

shut the fuck up. right now. this is the worst kind of bullshit and i won't have it. the only reason the dispensaries are "mom & pop" is because the heavy restrictions put on the medicinal industry. every other industry in the country is free to scale up their business as much as they want, and cannabis should be no different.

and the cops will have no chance once legalization happens, hell they can't even stop the dispensaries we have now! this is history. this is our chance.

he's right about our relationship with law enforcement. the friendly neighborhood beat cop is a thing of the past, these days we call them pigs and avoid them at all costs. every day i hear about another cop who shot the wrong person, tazed some kid, capped someone's dog, robbed a drug dealer, got high on the evidence locker...when i see an officer i, by default, have 0 respect for him and assume he is a jerk who will throw me in a cage the moment i give him a WHIFF of a reason to.

Of course he's for Prop 19 - it makes every ounce of cannabis sold produce 50 tax dollars that go towards going after "illicit growers and users", guts Medical Marijuana rights, It's going to put mom and pop growers out of business and make it an exclusively corporate-supplied system, and you can still be charged if you don't 'keep your receipt.' Google "Stoners Against Prop 19" and read for yourselves what LAWYERS say this law will do. "Legalize" does not appear in the bill AT ALL. NO ON 19!!!
