Common procedures for changing a steering universal joint on a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
1. Remove the hub bearing assembly, the corners of the hub assembly needs to be heated for the 3 rear bolts to come out
2. Remove the driveshaft
3. Place the drive shaft on vise and extract the c-clips from all corners of the u-joint
4. Use a removal tool to press the u-joint out, careful not to damage the castle-ring while doing this (oops)

torch out to get it off,bit over killjust mildlt heat the bolts and walk the axle out very easy,we just but ours on a bench vice and thrashed the hell out of it with a brass mallet and socket,the wee hand press works fine,but u joint can go off like bombs when they come free,sending metal rollers everwhere,be careful!!!! good vid!!!
