Put the lotion in that basket

"it's" can also be sort for "it has", as in "it's been a long time since i didn't have to be a Grammar Nazi." :)
-
@mrgrummus: Jeez...You don't get it at all, do you?
My point was, it definitely *is* the possessive in this case; I wasn't debating anything until you so intelligently pricked up, and my point in giving the example with the cat was that the possessive is indeed "its", in concordance with your own (superfluous) statement, so *what* exactly is your problem? I understand grammar from the grossest to the minutiae, so I would kindly ask you to shut up, please.

@Ashemarine What the hell are you talking about? I've completely lost faith in people understanding grammar.
The correct line is "it rubs the lotion on its skin" and not anything else. Also, its = possessive, it's = it is. There's really nothing else to debate on the manner.

@mylife42 haha its tue!
-
@mrgrummus: But in this case, he's saying "its skin"; think of "The cat licked its paw", where it doesn't mean "it is paw".

To all who think pronoun possessives have apostrophes:
me -> my/mine
you -> your/yours
it -> its
No apostrophe in any of these possessives. Or in plurals, for that matter.
-
Or else it get's the ho'se again.
It puts the apostrophe in the wrong place.
