  • thanks so much for the accessible and helpful tutorials/quizzes. i am trying to learn computer music composition and these have been very useful - i will definitely watch the next basics quiz video.

how did you learn this sort of programming for yourself? i'm trying to find good documentation for beginners but there's not much.

  • Hey - thanks for the encouragement, but I got kinda lazy with the whole baztutorial world. I will pick it up again soon I promise.

The documentation that comes with Max is very thorough, but assumes you know what you're trying to do already. There definitely needs to be more stuff out there for beginners.

    Cheers,

    baz

    Hey

At my school I had weekly lessons about MAX/MSP,this was a good trigger for my interest but still i had just learned the basics. For me this was the easiest way to learn the program.

After that i found the Baztutorials, which are more than great. The only problem is that it's more an instruction on how to make a useful specific patch with no detailed explanation of the used objects.

Non the less, it's simply the best way to see the structure of MAX.Theonboardmaxtut'saregreataswell

  • Now your making us all think. Bravo!

  • Uh - I thought you were talking about using a delay, and as I can see this tutorial has to do with soundfile playback. Baz Tutorial 10 is a good place to start with that.

  • changing the delay time is not difficult - just put a float or signal into the tapout~.
