Location: a shelter in an underground car park in the outskirts of Istanbul. White walls, bright light, neither doors nor windows.
A thaumatrope is a toy that was popular in Victorian times. A disk or card with a picture on each side is attached to two pieces of string. When the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to combine into a single image due to persistence of vision.
schutzfilm Thaumatrope is a radical approach to the principle of shot-countershot.
The reason for the blurring of subjective and objective lies in our limited perception.
schutzfilm Thaumatrope is the single-channel-version of the third part of Daniel Kötters Super8-Trilogy camera movement and location.
