  • if the car is stock or is lightly modded there is no reason an autozone clutch will slip other than installer error.

  • Well, see, here's the thing...

I installed both of these clutches. I cut the flywheel both times (at $45 a pop, might I add). And yet, the AZ part was shit the first time I romped on it after the 500 mile break in. The DxD held. 15,000 miles later, the DxD is still holding on as good as it did on Day 1.

It's pretty clear that the AZ clutch had a defect.

  • did you shim the flywheel or the slave cylinder to make up for what you had cut off of the flywheel?

  • This question alone tells me all I need to know about the extent of your experience working with the SHO drivetrain.

It was a bum AutoZone clutch. Get over it.

  • I was going to respond to this with all the reasons why you're just wrong...

...until I reread your comment and realized that the ignorance that you just put forth far, far outweighs anything that I could've possiblly said to that end.

By the way, my grandfather can kick your grandfather's ass.

    And AutoZone still sucks.

  • what i love about the sho is you can compare it to say a 2000 Nissan Maxima SE I had that and a 1993 SHO both manual i decided one day to have my friend drive the sho and i would drive the maxima...max has 222hp...sho has 220...the sho took the max by about half a length. So ford was making cars around 7 years ahead of there time.. all i can say is i love my sho. best car ive ever owned.

  • I have a 91 Sho deep jewel green for sale! Color is rare! I am second owner with all paper work from day of sale! Everything works! No Christmas lights on dash! Lowered, new 18" rims n tires, I also installed a 75 shot of nos used once! Just filled bottle! Email wuhead4life@aol.com I live in Florida and can deliver up to GA, NC. NO BS! $2500 takes it! Sho runs great! it has one rip on drivers seat other than that BITCH is CLEAN! Also have spare heads and a lot other motor parts! I even still h

  • I will agree with what you say about auto zone clutches. I replaced the one in my 73 Beetle with the Dualast Sprung kit and it did the same thing and my 1641cc Beetle is no where near as powerful. With the auto zone clutch my bug even had trouble getting up the ramps so I could swap in a Sachs clutch kit. Long story short spend a few bucks more and stay away from the Duralast clutch.

  • I love it when those secondary intakes open up. When you getting the Aluminum flywheel?

  • @Kawasakiforlife7 even still i can have the intake manifold off in 15 minutes. It takes me at least 30 to take the one on my maxima off. You want a car thats hard to work on. Try a Millenia S.

  • @mustanggt31 the engine is shoe horned in there, the bay wasnt made for that size engine

  • @Kawasakiforlife7 Having owned 3 sho's and 3 maximas (90,95,and 00) Id rather work on the SHO.

  • @mustanggt31 only problem with the sho, they are a bitch to work on, the engine is too big for the bay

  • This looks to be just as quick as my brother's 1997 acura tl 2.5 lol

  • Go to napa. If your are going to redline get a stage 2 clutch from ebay, it's cheap.

  • @wiidROOR yes i am aware of this
