UDM Civil Engineering @ the Heidelberg Project

Civil Engineering students visited the Heidelberg Project on July 10, 2009. Students in CE482, the senior capstone design project course, and CE430 Forensic Engineering are providing free engineering advice to the Heidelberg Project.

The Heidelberg Project hopes to create an outdoor theater. The theater would have seating in a new amphitheatre. The theater itself would be converted from an existing unoccupied house.

The Forensic Engineering students evaluated the adequacy of the house to be converted into a theater. Students will provide recommendations about how to modify the building while meeting safety requirements and maintaining the artistic quality of the structure.
