Highlights from North Shore Music Theatre's production of CONTACT playing through June 29, 2008. CONTACT is a provocative, moving and often humorous dance play that tells three separate stories "Swing," "Did You Move?" and "Contact." Each is about different ways to pursue love. Featuring a book by John Weidman & Susan Stroman, and with music and lyrics from various artists, CONTACT will sweep audiences off their feet. An eclectic array of songs provide the soundtrack for the mini-vignettes, including Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistible," Dean Martin's "You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You," Dion's "Runaround Sue," the Beach Boys' "Do You Want to Dance?" and "Sing Sing Sing" from Benny Goodman and his Orchestra.
It sounds like a good show, but I wouldn't call it a musical, and a lot of us agree it didn't deserve the 2000 Tony for Best Musical.
