  • How long did you practice this? I am attempting to play this at a festival (it qualifies for the state competition) this coming March... And one more thing: I'm a beginner flute (only 10 months!) and what exactly did you do for the repeated 16th notes at 3:35 ? did you double tongue? if so, how exactly do you do that? I know, I am completely insane, being a beginner, trying to learn this in a month... :)

  • @dship98 Hi, That's awesome you're playing in a festival!!! This was a really long time ago, but maybe try playing the tricky spots alot. Use a metronome - start under tempo and slowly work up to your tempo. Then when everything is all even, make sure the technique sounds like part of the music. For double tongue it's moving your tongue TKTK so the sound is coming out in both directions.

Good luck in your festival!!! Let me know how it goes!!!

  • This is the piece I'm doing to go onto my next level of lessons... And I'm a junior in college. Granted, I've got it under my fingers well and I'm finding it a bit easier and I never had lessons at a young age, but I can't imagine how silly I look as a junior in college compared to a 8 (now 11 year old). It's a good thing I'm in Music Education and not performance. XD

Good job! Very nice. :] Your tone is absolutely beautiful. :]

  • @xEmoxPandax18 Thank you!!! Faure's music is some of the most beautiful ever. Yes I'm lucky to be having lessons since I was little, but I really think it's awesome you're doing flute in college!!! College looks like so much fun!!!

  • @purplefuz Hi, Thanks for watching!!! I would say to play the technical stuff way more than the rest of it, way way more. And definitely use a metronome to keep it even. But start slow. Don't worry because once your fingers are comfy you can get fast again. Hope that helps!!! Let me now how it goes!!

  • Wow, this is amazing! I'm supposed to be doing this for my grade 8 but I can't get my fingers round it :( Any helpful suggestions?

  • @LM212grls Hi, I usually practice the hard fast parts of pieces way more than the other parts. Way way more. So if the DT isn't sounding how you want it, maybe just work on those parts for a half hour every day. Hope that helps!!! Let me know how it goes!!!

  • I'm playing this song in high school (freshman!) and I'm having trouble with the fast part. Did you double tongue? That is what I am having to do and it is not working haha. Advice?
