@johhnyutah I'd be amazed if you could name another movie which boasted a character who fit that description. Thus, Highlander is awesome ^_^

@Tryzon Your comments cracks me up every time I read it.
That Egyptian from Spain with a Scottish accent was a great character.

@lllDevilbytheDeedlll Heres how it should have been. An advanced humanoid civilisation existed in earth thousands of years ago, they colonised the stars e.t.c and were our ancestors. They were effected by civil war - two factions one civilised, one fanatical and tyrant. Over time they evolved beyond their physical bodies, in order to settle the dispute as to who will dominate and rule humanity, beings from each side were sent down to be born on earth as immortals to fight.

@lllDevilbytheDeedlll They did some similar crap with teh second transformers movie - the fallen. They talked about ancient transformers coming to earth in prehistoric times but never expanded on it. They could have made a major movie plot out of the ancient transfomers, how they influenced the development of mankind - maybe were even worshipped as gods e.t.c. But instead they focused on that whore bitch fox.

@indrajeet - Yes totally, it was the ambiguity of the immortals origins that added so much to the wonder and majesty of the film. Hell, even the immortals themselves really didn't really know themselves. They basically just felt compelled by some strange force, to do what they do.
So by turning them into aliens (or more retardedly, time travelers in the director's cut) and explaining EVERYTHING all that wonder is lost, and then it just degenerates into yet another dumb action fantasy film...

@Bladestar7 One of the reasons the first movie was great was its mystical and supernatural feel. It was set partly in the past and left many question opens to interpretations - who were the immortals? were they fallen angels or demi gods caste down to be born on earth to fight for a prize that would determine the fate of humanity?? The second movie ruined the supernatural element by turning the immortals into aliens - WTF!!!!

@lllDevilbytheDeedlll Blame it on the writers. The problem was they made him the last immortal in the 1st film. It gave the story nowhere to go. If they wanted a franchise, they shouldnt let him obtain the "Quickening" so easily. Make it a trilogy. Thats why the series was a logical step. In that universe there are two Highlanders and the fight for the prize was still on.
