Short video (Deutsch weiter unten!) about the next release of OS/2 Warp named eComStation 2.0 installed on the Lenovo Thinkpad SL 300. Including Windows 7 in Virtualbox in OS/2, Open Office 3.1 and more information about eComStation. Hope you enjoy!

  • Does wireless internet work?

  • @sulmann26

There is support for WLAN, but only up to Intel4965 BGN cards, there is a driver for newer chipsets (starting Intel 5100 and newer) under developement but unfortunately no results so far.

  • can i install os/2 warp on my pc without the floppy disk?my floppy drive is broken on my fujitsu ehh...please comment...

  • @MrChezco1995

Yesd, you can - if you use OS/2 Warp 4.52 or eComStation. OS/2 Warp 3 and 4 are not possible, only way for them is to update them via UPDCD, than it works.

  • Will this work in my super old computer?I want a newer OS for it.

  • @PBLeg70CD

Go to Hobbes for OS/2 (googel search) and look there for Virtualbox.

  • @mysticchip

Yes, OS/2 was the first build in JAVA Operatiingssystem. Today JAVA 6 is under developement.

  • EComStation. The more I see it, the more I long to have it as my main system. The problem is hardware support as someone has already said. I suppose if you customized, you could easily find out what ECom supports best and go from there. I am tired of Windows and the communists. This is a great third option.

  • Thisis so cool

  • Seems odd that they didn't change the splash screens to say "eComStation" instead of "OS/2 Warp" (especially with the IBM logo on the first one).

Nice to see that audio is working -- bad sound support for my old SoundBlaster 16 in Warp 4 was why I switched to Linux back in the late 1990s.
