Jim Rex, South Carolina's Superintendent of Education, addresses the issue of administrators running up big bills on "travel costs," and asking the taxpayers in their districts to pay for it. According to Superintendent Rex, this spending is necessary and justified.According to Rex, beleaguered taxpayers should have to foot the bill for luxury hotels so the tourism industry does not suffer.
