@computer188 Boiler inspectors dont do shit in the most cases.... Im a power engineer and the stuff I see the Inpsector let go makes me want to smash my head against the wall....

I'm no boiler expert, but after doing some reading after I saw this video, I can offer the following ideas....1) black liquor is a byproduct of the kraft paper making process. It's red because it is sent to the recovery boiler to use as a fuel and for chemicals to be reused. ID fan is induced draft fan, which maintains a slight negative pressure in the boiler. If the fan fails, the boiler "goes positive" and you see that stuff flying all over the place like that.

How do plants like that get away with jumping Limits like that? What did the boiler inspector say?

I just boiled myself with that fucking liquor 2 days ago.... 40% of my body....all this because of someone else's fault.

So was that the same place that burnt done two years ago? Plywood plant?
-
Well that's not good.

I wouldn't want to be poking the nozzles when that happens.

It looks worse than it is. Granted, we have 2 ID fans for each boiler, but still, just send someone to restart the fan, or initiate an MFT. ESP? Why wait 4 hours if it can be avoided? RBs are not for the faint of heart...

That doesn't look good. That looks bad...and serious!
Panzeux, with black liquor? Shit! That sucks more than anyone should ever experience. How are you doing?

It was at Northwood. #1 boiler. The ID fan just decided to quit and the high pressure limit was jumpered. Safety first at Canfor eh?
