Reporter: McKinsey Harris

Saturday morning, about a half dozen members of the Daniel Morgan Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution met at the gravesite of Staunton founder, John Lewis.

The men were busy clearing brush, trimming trees and tidying up the grave as they loaded three truckloads of yard waste.

The grave is located on Lewis' original land, and the men say the area needed a face lift to recognize the man who provided five sons for the American Revolution.

"He was patriotic, his sons were patriotic, and his whole family has remained patriotic ever since. We need to recognize the patriots of this country, and respect them, and you honor them every chance we get," says David Riel, registrar for the Daniel Morgan Chapter of SAR.

The men plan to paint the fence next, and then they'll hold a ceremony at the site with other Sons of the American Revolution members as well as descendants of John Lewis.
