I have been in OZ 5 times . I worked with SA RL and Tass Lobster . The bigest reason they do better because of ITQ or Transferable traps. . When I left Tassie lobsterd was $60 / kg Aus about $22 Cdn market in China, Taiwan, Korea and Japan as well as some to Hong Kong and Singapore.
We give them away to greasy spoon outfits like Red Lobster. Al you can eat specials! When was the last time you saw all you can eat caviar? CHeap Cheap.
Will not change til fishermen OWN the fish.

@orionsgolfer Lobsters increase each each so we are happy with what the buyer pay us and would take less to help buyers and the government if asked.

World's Greatest? Not even close. Western Australia. Much higher prices. Way higher earnings per vessel.
Even Parts of NZ and South OZ put SWNS to shame.

You are wrong. The lobster fishermen here make peanuts but the lobster dealers are multimillionaires. And it's legal and we practically give them to them. We are really really stupid here in Canada.
