I like nylon picks for strumming(60mm) but their a bit flimsy for picking. Thanks for writing back.

Thank you for the practical lesson. This is what I precisely need practice in and your lesson gives me ideas.

You are welcome. It is a challenging exercise. When I work at it faithfully, I do notice some improvement.

Do you recommend any pick thickness for flat picking?

Good question. I tend toward heavier picks. Its a subjective, personal thing, that is affected by your own strength, the thickness of your strings and even the scale length of your guitar. The guitar I'm using here has a short (24.9") scale - the same as a Martin 000-28 and I am using pretty light gauge strings, so they are rather loose - better for bending, but no so much bounce off the pick stroke and therefore a little slower to pick. I have kind of fallen in love recently with (cont'd)

"Golden Gate" picks, which a thick, rounded triangles that I understand were primarily designed for mandolin playing. They look like tortoise shell and provide me with some speed and power.
